ARC Community Chocolate Project
Connecting rural Trinidad to the mass market.
While at Abovegroup, I led the redesign of the brand identity for a line of chocolates produced by the Alliance of Rural Communities, an organisation committed to empowering rural communities in Trinidad with financial independence through the building of skills in chocolate manufacture from their own cocoa plants. Colour inspiration for this project was taken from the lively use of colour often found in rural houses and neighbourhoods. Since the redesign, the brand has moved from gourmet and specialty shops to every major retailer in the country, while still retaining its DIY ethics and methodologies. The brand has moved on without my input into many different villages, but I am proud to have created the design blueprint still used today.
